Fort Bend ISD

Aanya Malik is a senior at Stephen F. Austin High School, where she has served as Class President for all four years and is the captain of the varsity swimming and dive team. This fall, she will be attending the University of Texas at Austin as a biology major on the pre-medical track. Through her mentorship with Dr. Solomon, Aanya had the opportunity to observe a wide range of procedures in the operating room, learn about wound care in the clinic, and participate in rounds in the ICU and on patient floors. One of her favorite memories from the GT Mentorship cohort was joyfully losing all of her “money” in poker during the end-of-year winter social, and she is so thankful for the experiences this program granted her and for the people she met along the way.
