434th District Court
The Honorable Judge J. Christian Becerra, Mentor
Judge Christian Becerra comes from a proud family that is steeped in public service. He learned at an early age that political involvement and advocacy are a privilege that should be fully utilized. His family is an inspiration to him because not only did they completely uproot their lives and come to the United States of America, they took the next step and dedicated themselves to the community and public service. His aunt, Lupe Uresti, ran for and became the first female Hispanic mayor of Rosenberg in the late 80’s. Her campaign made it clear that diversity and inclusion were going to be a priority here and she brought the elected structure closer to reflecting its constituency. Judge believes that he’s nothing without my family and everything he’s have accomplished has been because of their support.
Judge Becerra is a native son of Fort Bend County, and his community invested in him from a young age and are the reason he has been able to accomplish so much so far. Judge Becerra is indebted to the community that raised and supported him, and believe that they are his family and that they deserve advocacy and representation behind the bench. Judge Becerra wholeheartedly believes it is his responsibility to answer this call.
The courthouse should reflect our diverse community. Judge Becerra has spent the entire 21 years of his legal career advocating for justice at the Fort Bend County Courthouse practicing in the areas of criminal, civil, probate and family law. His experience makes him the most qualified candidate. He has strong connections to all of the newly elected Judges and the District Attorney and believe in the changes they have enacted and share their vision for a more diverse and progressive Fort Bend. Judge Becerra has the passion, drive, and dedication to serve my community. He loves spending time with his family and getting to know other members of the community.
