  • Student Biography

    Vishwa is currently a senior at Dulles High School. During his  high school career, he served as the Founder and Head Coach of Fort Bend Fitness, a basketball camp for elementary aged children. He is an interviewer for The Scleroderma and Fibrotic Diseases Foundation, as well as the Parliamentarian for Dulles’ Soles4Souls charity organization. Additionally, he has authored articles published in Healing Through Hearts medical magazine and The Teen Magazine. Vishwa has been recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction, a Worldquest Regional Finalist, and a recipient of the Dulles Academic Excellence Award.  As a part of GT Mentorship, Vishwa was mentored under Dr. Terrence Anderson at OrthoHouston in the field of Sports Medicine. Through this experience, he has gained a sense of the true impact that an orthopedic physician can have on the lives of others. Beyond aiding physical complications, physicians also help rebuild a patient’s confidence and trust in their own ability to improve. He credits his mentorship experience with showing him the value of a multifaceted, holistic approach to both practicing medicine and life in general. In the fall, Vishwa plans to matriculate at the University of Texas at Austin to study Biochemistry.

    Dr. Terrence Anderson, Mentor

    With a strong background in minimally invasive surgery, sports medicine, and scoliosis, board-certified orthopedist Terrence Anderson, MD, is a trusted physician for patients and their families. He cares for patients of all ages at his private practices, Sugar Land and Katy, Texas. While serving as the team captain and All-American center on the football team during college, Dr. Anderson gained a unique perspective at the elite level of athletics as a young competitor. This experience helped carve his passion for treating pediatric patients and adolescent athletes. To gain extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Anderson went on to complete a competitive fellowship program at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. During his fellowship, Dr. Anderson received comprehensive training in young adult hip surgery, pediatric orthopedics, and scoliosis surgery.

    Board-certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Anderson has clinical interests that include scoliosis, fracture care, patellar instability, osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), ACL ruptures, and hip preservation in children and young adults. He specializes in pediatric orthopedic surgery.
