  • Student Biography

    Prisha Patel is currently a senior at Austin High School. During her high school career, Prisha has served as the Parliamentarian for Spanish National Honor Society, and has engaged in clubs like Mu Alpha Theta and Science National Honor Society. As a part of the Spanish National Honor Society, Prisha has helped organize events like her school’s International Festival and enjoys learning about different cultures and languages. Additionally, she has received awards for Academic Excellence and is an AP Scholar with Distinction. As a part of GT Mentorship Prisha was mentored under Lead Radiologic Technologist Stephen Wolff and Imaging Manager Robyn Malone-Koch at Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land. During this experience, Prisha has solidified her resolve to go into the medical field after experiencing what it's like to work in a hospital setting. She received the chance to view various surgeries/procedures done on patients and watched how different modalities, for example x-ray, CT, and ultrasound, work.  In the fall, Prisha plans to matriculate at University of Texas at Austin, studying Public Health on a Pre-Med track.

    Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital has been in business for 22 years as it opened in March of 1988 with only 22 beds and around 160 employees. Now the hospital has thousands of employees and hundreds of beds for patients. HMSL strives to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, compassionate care to the Fort Bend community in a caring, spiritual environment. The hospital holds a patient-centric philosophy, which means that patients come first. Regarding Methodist as a whole and the Imaging & Radiology department, Houston Methodist’s board-certified radiologists use the newest imaging technologies to provide patients the most accurate diagnoses, recommend the best possible treatments, and administer minimally invasive therapies. Methodist offers 13 convenient imaging locations across the Greater Houston area to serve patients near their home or office.
