  • School Social Workers provide direct counseling and social work support to all campuses within Fort Bend ISD. Their services focus on helping students successfully adjust to school and strengthening collaboration among home, school, and community to promote student well‑being and success.

    Social Workers provide comprehensive support through the following services:

    • Consult with families to assess needs and determine appropriate supports
    • Deliver direct services to students and their families
    • Coordinate care among students, families, and community agencies
    • Provide crisis intervention and connect families with necessary referrals
    • Implement strategies to improve student attendance and reduce truancy
    • Identify and support homeless and foster youth, ensuring access to services
    • Organize and lead individual and small‑group interventions for students exhibiting at‑risk behaviors
    • Strengthen collaboration between school, home, and community partners to promote academic success
    • Connect students and families with campus and community resources
    • Advocate on behalf of students to ensure their needs are met
    • Offer specialized support for pregnant and parenting students
    • Assist with transition activities for students newly arrived in the United States
    • Provide immigrant families with guidance and information about navigating the American educational system

    Social Worker Referral Process

    Social Work referrals are initiated by the campus counselor. If parents or guardians feel their student may benefit from social work services or additional support, they are encouraged to contact their campus counselor directly. The counselor will collaborate with families to determine needs and begin the referral process as appropriate.
