Fort Bend ISD

Lana Nguyen is a graduating senior from Travis High School. As part of her extracurricular involvement, Lana was the president of the National English Honor Society (NEHS) and the proud leader of Cupids, a K-pop dance group. Through the mentorship program, Lana was fortunate enough to be able to work with chief editors, Sofia Trousselle and Alfonso Reyes at Glass Mountain on their undergraduate literary journal. Her time there provided invaluable insight into learning the distinction between rejected and accepted pieces. It also helped her see the little joys of everyday life–whether that meant a Kit-Kat break, accepting that some teammates won't finish their readings, or making fun of a guy named Keith. In the Fall, she will be attending Rice University to study English.
