Fort Bend ISD

Layla Raye is a graduating senior at Travis High School and a Health Science student at James Reese Career and Technical Center. She has served as Travis’ Black Student Union vice president and achieved second place in regionals for Skills USA. Outside of school, she is highly engaged with her community, spearheading Unity Links, a support system at her church that helps teens navigate young adulthood. Through her mentorship, Layla was able to gain valuable insight into the various aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In the fall, Layla plans to attend either Spelman College or the Xavier University of New Orleans as a Coordinated Admissions Program student, majoring in biology.
