Student Biography

Mayank Kulkarni is currently a senior at Travis High School. During his high school career, Mayank participated actively in Science National Honor Society, Engineering Club, and Chess Club. Additionally, he was recognized as an Academic Excellence Award winner.  As a part of GT Mentorship, Mayank was mentored in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering at DBR Engineering Consultants. During this experience, Mayank has gained a greater understanding of the real-world work environment in the field of MEP Engineering as well as how research is conducted and elaborated on in peer-reviewed research papers. He has also had the opportunity to discover the challenges that are often faced in the field of engineering and the importance of communication, building codes, and standards. In the fall, Mayank plans to matriculate at Texas A&M University studying Mechanical Engineering.
