Lilia Mitra is currently a senior at Clements High School. During her high school career, Lilia served as a member and officer of the Clements Marching Band, Sexuality and Gender Alliance, French Club, Student Council, Fort Bend ISD Student Voices Advisory Network, and National Honor Society. Outside of school, Lilia enjoys work in civic engagement and was excited to have the opportunity to advocate for body camera policy change in Fort Bend as a member of the county’s Youth Leadership Program. Additionally, she was recognized as a National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, and 2018/2020 UIL Region Band Member.  As a part of GT Mentorship, Lilia was mentored under Mandi Kimball and Gretchen Himsl at Children at Risk. During this experience, Lilia has gained insight into the exciting world of policy research and a much clearer understanding of the intersection between healthcare and public policy. She would like to thank her teacher, Mrs. Bryant, for making mentorship possible with her constant support. In the fall, Lilia plans to matriculate at the University of Virginia studying Public Policy & Leadership on a pre-med track.
