    Bao Tang is a senior at Marshall High School.  During her time in the GT Mentorship Program, she was guided by Mrs. Amanda Silberman,  FBISD's  General Ledger Manager.  In the fall of 2021, Bao is planning to attend Texas A&M University to study in Mays Business School and major in Accounting.

    Effort makes you. You will regret someday if you don’t do your best now. Don’t think it’s too late but keep working on it. It may take time, but there’s nothing that gets worse due to practicing. So practice. You may get depressed, but its evidence that you are doing good.

    The Business and Finance Department is responsible for all financial accounting of the school district funds including Budget, Federal and State Grants, Audit of Activity Funds, Parent Organizations, Activity Funds, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Payroll and Benefits, Risk Management, Fixed Assets, Investments and Financial Reporting. 

     

    Project Abstract

     

    Over the course of this past fiscal year, Fort Bend Independent School District's debt has taken a much bigger hit than it previously expected. The root of fault in our plans to recover from debt was thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This presentation will explain the reasons and changes that explain the downfall and recovery of the district's funding and actions.
