• Aarya Parmar, Clements High School

  • Student Biography

    Aarya Parmar is currently a senior at Clements High School. During her high school career, Aarya served as the President in the Fort Settlement Middle School Speech and Debate Club in which she oversaw high school debaters coaching future middle school debaters. She served as the treasurer for Hindu Student Association. She was the captain of her event in the Clements Academic Speech in debate team. In debate, Aarya has gone to the State tournament two years in a row and has also qualified to the national level in which she advanced to the top 64 teams in the nation. Throughout the 4 years of high school, Aarya has also been engaged in Student Council and has volunteered her time for many school events.  Additionally, she is an AP Scholar and has received the Presidential Volunteer Service award. As a part of GT Mentorship, Aarya was mentored under Dr. Wirthlin at Wirthlin Orthodontics. During this experience, Aarya has made memories and relationships that will last a lifetime, gained the soft skills of patient care and manual dexterity, and gained professional and career development skills such as how to manage a private business and networking. In the fall, Aarya plans to matriculate at Texas A&M University studying  Biomedical Engineering with a Pre-Dental path.

  • Wirthlin Orthodontics

    Dr. John Wirthlin, DDS, MSD, Mentor

    Dr.Wirthlin is board certified and a board examiner for the American Board of orthodontics with an ADA-accredited craniofacial certification, allowing him to treat kids with cleft lip and cleft palate. He graduated valedictorian from UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Wirthlin continues to practice part-time on the cleft palate and craniofacial teams at Texas Children’s Hospital. He was an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and at UT Health Science Center in the Houston Department of Orthodontics. Dr. Wirthlin lives and works in Sienna Plantation, Texas. He has four kids, who attend school in the Fort Bend ISD school district. He loves hanging out with his family around the table playing games. In his free time, he enjoys water skiing, snow skiing, camping, and hiking.
