Account and Access Management
Account and Access Management is used to request service accounts, elevated access accounts, roles based security groups, password reset and Multi-Factor Authentication. Who is eligible to use the service: District Users, Departments and Campuses.

Application Development Services
FBISD IT provides application development services to support the District's needs and initiatives when other solutions are not available. Who is eligible to use the service: This service is available for FBISD Central Administration Staff. Application Development projects require approval by the Strategic Planning Council.

Application Implementation Services
FBISD IT provides application implementation services for systems purchased by the District. Who is eligible to use the service: This service is available for FBISD Central Administration Staff. Application implementation projects require approval by the Strategic Planning Council.

Application Support Services
FBISD provides timely and comprehensive support services for all applications (Cloud and On-Premise) adopted by the District. All staff and secondary students can request support through the FBISD Support Portal. Elementary school students can request assistance through their teacher or have a parent call the Customer Support Center at (281) 634-1300. Who is eligible to use the service: All FBISD students and staff.

Data Backup
Data Backup is used to protect critical district data from inadvertently being lost, whether by human error, equipment failure, or malware. Who is eligible to use the service: District Departments and Campuses.

Data Center Services
Data Center Services is used to request placement of technical hardware in the district data center. Who is eligible to use the service: District Departments and Campuses.

Data Integration Services
The Data Integration team focuses on collecting data from multiple diverse source systems into a single centralized location where the data is cleansed, transformed and packaged for secure transport and loading into diverse target systems in support of a range of business initiatives and technical implementations. Who is eligible to use the service: All Fort Bend ISD staff.

Database Administration (DBA)
Database Administration (DBA) is a part of Information Services, provides a complete end-to-end service for the administration of Microsoft SQL Server Databases, including maintenance, monitoring, and backup. DBA delivers Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration services to all FBISD departments. The DBA services provides support of production, test and development databases. Besides the daily administrative tasks and activities, the production servers monitored continuously for any potential problems so that it can address in a timely manner without causing any service disruption. Who is eligible to use the service: All Fort bend ISD departments.

Desktop Support
Desktop Support is one branch of the Information Technology department that serves to provide on-site support maintaining organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals for all K-12 campuses and administration locations in FBISD. Services include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. Who is eligible to use the service: Any FBISD Staff member and student in grades 6 and higher are eligible to create or request support services.

Domain Name Services (DNS)
Domain Name Services is used to request new DNS records, changes or updates to existing DNS records, or the removal of DNS records. Who is eligible to use the service: Departments and Campuses.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
DHCP is a network management protocol used on UDP/IP networks whereby a DHCP server dynamically assigns an IP address and other network configuration parameters to each device on a network so they can communicate with other IP networks. Who is eligible to use the service: Departments and Campuses.

Email
Email is used to request the addition of a new department based or service based shared mailbox, and distribution list. Who is eligible to use the service: District Staff (personal mailbox), Departments and Campuses.

ERATE Services
Identification, planning and processing of ERATE filings for Federal Communications Commission reimbursement of eligible services to school districts. This requires significant lead time and planning as there are (3) fiscal years of activities in process at any given time and strict timelines that must be followed. Who is eligible to use the service: Any IT leader that is responsible for supporting student connectivity including eligible expenses such as network gear, internet connections, and WiFi equipment (usually Executive Director Information Technology Services and Manager Network Services).

Files Shares
Files Shares is used to request the creation of a new department or application based Fileshare. Who is eligible to use the service: District Departments and Campuses.

Finance and Supply Chain Management (FSCM)
The FSCM system is composed of several distinct modules integrated into one system. The district has licensed the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Inventory, Asset Management, Billing, Commitment Control and Project Costing modules. The FSCM System integrates with other systems such as PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM), Operational Data Store(ODS) and external suppliers/vendors. In addition it provides services to upload financial data from feeder systems. The data received from various departments includes billing information, assets, invoices and accounting transactions to be budget checked, journalized and posted to the ledger. Who is eligible to use the service: Any FBISD employee with a business need to access the system.

Firewall Rule Modification
The District employs a sophisticated internet firewall system that uses rules to allow permitted traffic or deny malicious traffic. Sometimes District required applications or services utilize non-standard protocols, ports, etc. to function correctly and so adjustments to the District’s protection rules are necessary. Who is eligible to use the service: Department Leaders and above (should require leadership approval).

Human Capital Management (HCM)
Enterprise PeopleSoft Human Capital Management Services Suite includes Workforce Administration, Position Management, Direct Deposit, Payroll, Self Service (myselfserve), Benefits Administration, Time & Labor tracking, Leave Administration, Federal and State reporting inclusive of (Tax, TRS and PEIMS). Who is eligible to use the service: Any FBISD employee with a business need to access the system.

IT Contract Management
Consolidation of all IT contracts into a single area of responsibility for visibility, tracking and continuity. Who is eligible to use the service: All IT leadership that is tasked with implementing new software will be supported by the IT team and annual contract and support payment will be the responsibility of the IT department.

IT Customer Service Desk
The IT Customer Service Desk is the first point of contact between FBISD and all its customers. Who is eligible to use the service: Staff, Students, and Parents.

Mesa
Mesa is a transcript and schedule auditing platform. Who is eligible to use the service: High School Registrars and Counselors; District Registrars and District Counselors.

Monitoring
Monitoring is used for requesting the addition of a device to the IT monitoring system, an update to settings in the monitoring system for a device, or the removal of a device from the monitoring system. Who is eligible to use the service: District Departments and Campuses.

Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS)
The Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) encompasses all data requested and received by TEA about public education; including student demographics and academic performance, personnel, financial, and organizational information. Who is eligible to use the service: District and campus staff.

Remote Access VPN
The district's Remote Access VPN provides secure network systems access for District employees and vendors with approved access to applications and resources that are otherwise not available except from within the District network. Who is eligible to use the service: District employees and vendors with approved access.

Server Hosting
Server Hosting is used to request the addition of a new physical or virtual server, updates to an existing server, or the decommission of a server. Who is eligible to use the service: District Departments and Campuses.

Software Licenses and Distribution
FBISD negotiates software contracts that offer software at discounted prices to FBISD departments for FBISD-owned computers. Who is eligible to use the service: All audiences.

SSL Certificate
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificate is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. Who is eligible to use the service: District Departments and Campuses.

Student Information System
Skyward is a web-based Student Information System application that specializing in K-12 school management. Who is eligible to use the service: Student Management – District and Campus Staff; Educator Access - Teachers; Family Access – Parents; Student Access - Students.

Web Collaboration Tools
Collaboration between users leveraging tools such as SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams. Who is eligible to use the service: District Departments and Campuses.

Website Block/Unblock Request
The District employs a sophisticated internet filter system that uses categorizations to determine if the website is harmful. Occasionally websites are mischaracterized or Staff require access to a site that is otherwise restricted, and occasionally websites that should be blocked are not. Who is eligible to use the service: All FBISD Staff.

Wireless Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Wireless Bring Your Own Device is wireless network for student and staff-owned personal devices to facilitate access to educational internet resources including Schoology. There is also a sponsored-guest function where visitors can request access to BYOD for their devices through a District sponsor, or the front desk at a campus. Sponsored-guest does have a maximum time limit of up to 5 days, as determined by the sponsor. Who is eligible to use the service: Staff and students who have an active AD account. Visitors who request it through a sponsor or campus reception.
