You want the laptop with you, like your phone.  However, when you must leave it behind in the car, make sure to put it in the trunk of the car.  Never leave it where it is visible in the car.  If you must leave it in the trunk, make sure it is properly secured in the trunk so that it is not sliding around. Do not leave it in the trunk for a very long time.  The extreme heat will shorten the life of the laptop. 

To clean spots and streaks on the surface of the screen, mist an LCD cleaning spray (or slightly moist soft cloth) onto a dust-free side of your microfiber cloth; Wipe the surface thoroughly but avoid saturation into the edges of the screen. Allow the screen to air dry.
