Check to see if your home internet will support the necessary activities for Online Learning at FBISD. Online learning will include video streaming, video conferencing, and accessing online resources. We further recommend a 3.5 Mb bandwidth allocation per student. This does not account for other household bandwidth consumption. Other activities such as Streaming Videos, Music and Gaming consume additional bandwidth. Test your internet speed (upload/download) at any time, on any device by navigating to https://www.speedtest.net/.
Understanding Bandwidth Further
Say you have 100 MB (megabytes) of files to upload. 100 MB equals 800 Mb (100 x 8). (Filesize in Mb / Upload Speed in Mbps) / (60) = Total Upload time in minutes. 100 MB 5.0 Mbps 2 mins.
