The following is a list of anticipated projects from the GT Department Five-Year Task Map that are long-term goals and plans we hope to explore in the future. Any approval of plans is dependent upon district resources for appropriate implementation.
Please note that the Task Map is reviewed quarterly, and projected dates are subject to change based on research and asset availability.

Student Assessment
- Research, explore, and develop identification tools and processes for other areas of giftedness including visual/performing arts, creativity, and leadership. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: December 2024
Service Design
- Investigate Vistas Talent Pool Expansion Beyond Elementary Program. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: May 2025
- Investigate, pilot, monitor and evaluate expansion of the GT Mentorship program to additional grade levels. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: May 2026
- Evaluate and explore expanding GT services to areas of visual/performing arts, creativity, and leadership. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: August 2024
- If the research indicates need/availability and the District is able, develop plans for service options for giftedness in the areas of visual/performing arts, creativity, and/or leadership. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: May 2025
Curriculum and Instruction
- Research and explore enhancing the curriculum with meaningful learning experiences in the areas of visual/performing arts, creativity, and leadership. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: April 2026
Professional Development
- Develop and deliver both initial and ongoing professional learning to administrators and teachers for Vistas Talent Pool Expansion Beyond Elementary pilot program. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: May 2025
- If/when GT services are expanded beyond core content areas, establish a timeline to develop and deliver training to support campus selection committees' identification of a diverse population of GT students. PROJECTED COMPLETION DATE: February 2026
