Homebound Services
-
The district provides homebound educational services for Fort Bend ISD (FBISD) students, both general education and special education, who cannot attend school because of medically documented conditions. Homebound educational services give eligible students an opportunity to continue meeting their educational requirements as medical conditions permit. Eligibility for Homebound educational services is contingent on a licensed medical doctor’s certification and the approval of the General Education Homebound (GEH) or Admissions, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee. The certification process includes documentation that a student is unable to attend a public school for at least four consecutive weeks or has a chronic recurring condition that results in probable absences that total at least four or more weeks during the school year due to a medical condition.
For more information regarding homebound services, contact the Program Manager of Specialized Nursing and Homebound Services at 281-634-6145.
