Relocation of the Early Intervention Academy
-
March 2020
The Early Intervention Academy (EIA) is being relocated from the Ridgemont Early Childhood Center to Quail Valley Elementary. Relocating the EIA will allow the District to manage projected enrollment during the 2020-21 school year, while providing parents of children served at the EIA with a more centralized location that better serves families across the District. The change in locations will not affect the educational and support services students are currently receiving. All services will continue as planned at the new location.
Effective July 30, 2020 and until further notice:· The EIA will officially close the location at the Ridgemont Early Childhood Center and relocate to Quail Valley Elementary.
· All returning and newly enrolled students served at the EIA will report to the new Quail Valley Elementary location for the start of the 2020-21 school year.

TO OUR EARLY INTERVENTION ACADEMY COMMUNITY:
At the February 24 Regular Board Meeting, the Board was notified that the Early Intervention Academy (EIA) will be relocated from its current location at the Ridgemont Early Childhood Center to a new location, Quail Valley Elementary School. Relocating the EIA will provide a more central location for this program that serves families across the District, while helping to manage projected enrollment for the 2020-21 school year and beyond.
Please be assured that the change in locations will not affect the educational and support services students are currently receiving. All services will continue as planned at the new location.
To summarize our plans for the Early Intervention Academy (EIA):· The EIA will be relocating from the Ridgemont Early Childhood Center to Quail Valley Elementary this summer in time for the start of the 2020-21 school year.
· The final day that the EIA will be housed at the Ridgemont Early Literacy Center will be July 30, 2020.
· All current educational and support services provided to students served at the EIA at the Ridgemont Early Literacy Center will continue when students relocate to the new location at Quail Valley Elementary.
· Transportation services will continue for students who require them.
We understand that this decision affects families, which is why we are determined to ensure you have the most accurate information. To assist with this goal, we have created a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document that is posted on the bottom of this webpage.
Please be assured that our Board will continue to work closely with FBISD district administrators to ensure the very best learning experiences for all of our students. If the FAQ does not answer all your questions, please submit questions via Let’s Talk .
Sincerely,
Jason Burdine

Frequently Asked Questions
-
My student currently receives transportation to the Ridgemont location. Will transportation services be provided to the new location at Quail Valley Elementary?
Yes. The District will continue to provide transportation services to families who need the service.
-
My child is making progress at the current location. Will my child continue to receive the same services as before?
Yes. All educational and support services provided to students at the Ridgemont location will continue as planned for students at the Quail Valley location.
-
Why couldn’t students served at the EIA remain at Ridgemont and the District instead open a second EIA location at Quail Valley?
The projected growth in enrollment is not significant enough to warrant two facilities being offered at this time.
-
Will my student’s meal purchase pin number change at the new location?
No. As long as your child is enrolled in Fort Bend ISD, the child will continue to use his/her assigned Personalized Pin Number.
-
With the move to Quail Valley, does that mean a new staff will be in place?
Not necessary. We anticipate that the current staff will remain with the EIA program. However, staff have the option to apply for other positions at the end of a school year.
-
Will our students served at the EIA continue to be housed in a separate area from the main school?
Yes. The EIA will operate as a school within a school and will have its own instructional spaces.
-
Will my child’s ARD be interrupted by the relocation?
No. We are continuing services as planned. Later in the spring we will hold ARDs for all students in Special Education to review next year’s schedules. In addition, we will offer a Prek 5 class for students whose ARD has determined this as the best place to implement their IEPs.
-
Will any EIA services remain at the Ridgemont location?
No. All services will be redirected to the new Quail Valley Elementary location. The last day to receive services at the Ridgemont location will be July 30, 2020.
