Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree

Must have completed at least 12 hours of graduate study in a Library degree program leading to a Master's Degree in Library and/or Information Science or related field; must be able to complete the School Librarian degree and certification within 2 years

Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment

Minimum of 2 years Classroom teaching experience

Qualification Requirements
-
Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program
-
Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program, preferred
-
Valid Registered Nurse License from the Texas State Board of Nursing Valid Texas RN license or temporary TX RN license, should obtain permanent license within 90 days. Valid compact license acceptable according to current Board of Nursing requirements.

Current CPR and AED Certification
-
Current First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification preferred but training provided
-
Certification in first aid, hearing, vision, scoliosis, acanthosis preferred but training provided
-
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in community health, school health, or other related fields
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a registered nurse preferred
-
Possess a strong working knowledge of the RN scope of practice as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing
-
Ability to demonstrate physical assessment and intervention skills
-
Proficient in using equipment and technology for the delivery of healthcare services
-
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff both verbally and in writing

Licensed Vocational Nurse
Qualification Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Current CPR and AED Certification

Valid Texas LVN license issued by the Board of Nursing

Minimum of 2 years an LVN

Demonstrated knowledge of nursing procedures and techniques

Demonstrated knowledge of the LVN scope of practice as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing

Ability to accept supervision and direction from campus principal and/or RN
-
Proficient in using equipment and technology for the delivery of healthcare services

Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff both verbally and in writing

Substitute Nurse
Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Nursing degree required from an accredited professional nursing education program

a combination of an Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program with a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse will be considered in lieu of degree requirements

Valid Registered Nurse License from the Texas State Board of Nursing

Certified in First Aid, CPR & AED Usage

Experience in direct patient care within the last five years

Minimum of 2 years experience as a registered nurse preferred

FBISD offers school nurse training and mentorship and a competitive salary based on a 190-day work calendar. Nurses also have the ability to take their school-age children to work with them.
