• Voluntary Transfers (Teachers and Paras)

Each year, Fort Bend ISD opens a Voluntary Transfer Window for teachers and instructional aides who are interested in transferring to another campus within FBISD.

The Voluntary Transfer Window for the 2022-23 school year has closed. Please note: No additional transfer requests will be accepted for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. The window will reopen in the spring of 2023.

Please note that candidates must meet eligibility criteria for a Voluntary Transfer, and this process does not apply for candidates who are currently in pool positions, such as Fine Arts, PE Teachers, Librarians, Instructional Coaches, etc.

      Eligibility Criteria

      • Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a Voluntary Transfer, all teachers and instructional aides in non-pool positions must:

        • Have a minimum of two (2) consecutive years of service, in the same position, at their current campus as of June 1, 2022. *
        • Have demonstrated success on T-TESS, or professional evaluation, with no indicators of “Improvement Needed” for the current school year.
        • Not be on a H-1B Visa

*As an exception, an employee may have less than two years of service to be eligible for a lateral voluntary transfer if:

        • The employee was placed by HR in the assignment on the current campus due to the identification of excess
        • The employee is currently on an EDGE or ELC campus
        • The employee was reassigned from the Virtual Learning Program (VLP) or Remote Conferencing (RC) to a campus that was other than original 2021-2022 home-campus

Please note that transfers are for lateral moves only. To be considered for a different position, you must complete an application and go through the selection process. Application does not guarantee that a transfer will be granted, as all requests are subject to campus vacancies and their selection process.

IMPORTANT: Please note that as an internal candidate, you can only access the application process through the District network or VPN.
