2023 Special Education Extended School Year (ESY)

Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) services will be provided to students receiving special education services who are recommended through an ARD committee decision. ESY services are provided to students who have demonstrated substantial regression in critical skill area(s) that cannot be recouped within a reasonable period of time or that need to be maintained beyond the regular school year.
ESY Dates:
- June 13-June 15
- June 20-June 22
- July 11- July 13
- July 18-July 20
*ESY services are determined the ARD Committee. If a student requires additional services beyond the traditional ESY time a staffing will be scheduled to review data.

Additional Special Education Summer Programming and Locations:
- Structured Therapeutic Educational Program (STEP) – Progressive High School
- Early Intervention Academy (EIA) – Quail Valley Elementary School
- Social Understanding – Refer to ESY feeder
*Parents of students receiving special education services that have been ARDed for ESY by April 7th will receive a Skyward Registration Form for ESY beginning on April 11, 2023. This registration form is to assist in determining the number of students who will attend ESY each week in order to plan for appropriate student support and staffing.

Fort Bend ISD Special Education Support Request Form
If you, as a parent or caregiver, need support in the area of your child’s learning environment or if you have any other concerns, we encourage you to reach out to your campus and speak with your student’s Case Manager or designated Principal. You may also reach out directly to your student’s Program Manager or Specialist. At any point, if you would like to contact the Special Education Administration office directly, please click on the link above and complete the FBISD Special Education Support Request Form. A member of our leadership team will reach out and assist you to ensure your concerns are addressed.
