Do NOT contact the campus principals or teachers directly. 

Step 1: Your program director/supervisor must make direct contact with Debra Erhart at Debra.Erhart@fortbendisd.com to request your placement in our district. Be sure they include certification areas, dates and times of placements.

Step 2: Please read the instruction below and then complete an online application.

• Select the “Student Teacher” application
• Complete all designated areas (RED arrows)
• Select a quadrant using the Map with Quadrants
• If selecting a Title 1 school make sure the quadrant selected includes Title 1 schools

You will receive an electronic communication from Fort Bend ISD within 48 hours after submitting the application regarding your background check.

Criminal History Applications must be completed after July 1 every year and cleared before a student teacher can begin assignment 

Step 3: Human Resources will work directly with Field Experience Supervisors in placing student teachers for the fall and spring semesters.

Placement information will be emailed to the student teacher and the institution after all the information is verified and placements are secured.  

Step 4: Once accepted, placement information will be emailed to the student teacher and institution/program.

Student Teacher Placement Request Deadlines:

Please contact our office the semester prior to your student teaching.  Late inquiries could be denied based on teacher availability.

Fall 2018: The deadline for Fall 2018 placement requests is June 30, 2018. Other requests will be considered based on Cooperating Teacher availability.

Spring 2018: We will begin taking student teaching requests November 1, 2018.

Note: We do not schedule placements during the summer months.
