    Paid Teacher Residents

Teacher Residents are full-year, salaried employees of Fort Bend ISD participating in a year-long clinical teaching experience. Each resident is carefully paired with a highly effective Host Teacher and follows the FBISD academic calendar, as the class schedule allows. Throughout the residency, Teacher Residents engage in co-teaching models that promote collaborative planning, instruction, and assessment. This hands-on approach allows residents to gradually take on increased responsibility while benefiting from the ongoing support and expertise of their Host Teacher.

Upon successful completion of the residency, participants commit to teaching in Fort Bend ISD for one full school year. FBISD Paid Teacher Residents Information

Please note: FBISD only accepts Teacher Residents from approved Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) with which the district has an established partnership.

This residency program is designed to provide meaningful, real-world teaching experience and to support a smooth transition into a successful, long-term teaching career within FBISD.

If your Educator Preparation Program (EPP) is not listed on our Partnerships list, we encourage you to reach out to your university’s field experience or clinical placement office. Fort Bend ISD only accepts student teachers and teacher residents from EPPs with whom we have an active partnership.

Your university representative can contact us to explore the possibility of establishing a partnership by scheduling a Partnership Design Session with FBISD. This process ensures alignment between our district and the EPP, helping to create a high-quality clinical experience for all involved. For more information or to initiate the process, please have your university reach out to our team directly.
