    • Student Teaching in FBISD

Student Teachers in Fort Bend ISD participate in a semester-long or year-long clinical teaching experience in partnership with their Educator Preparation Program (EPP). Each student teacher is paired with a supportive Cooperating Teacher and follows their university’s academic calendar. Throughout the experience, Student Teachers engage in co-teaching models, allowing them to collaborate on lesson planning, classroom instruction, and assessment while gradually increasing their teaching responsibilities.

Please note: FBISD only accepts Student Teachers from approved EPPs with which the district has an established partnership.

While not employed by the district during their placement, Student Teachers are strongly encouraged to apply for a teaching position in FBISD upon successful completion of their clinical experience. We value the contributions of our student teachers and look forward to welcoming many as future educators in our district.

        Don’t See Your University Listed?

If your Educator Preparation Program (EPP) is not listed on our Partnerships list, we encourage you to reach out to your university’s field experience or clinical placement office. Fort Bend ISD only accepts student teachers and teacher residents from EPPs with whom we have an active partnership.

Your university representative can contact us to explore the possibility of establishing a partnership by scheduling a Partnership Design Session with FBISD. This process ensures alignment between our district and the EPP, helping to create a high-quality clinical experience for all involved. For more information or to initiate the process, please have your university reach out to our team directly.
