GTA Educational Events and Experiences October/November 2024

  • The pictures below are just some of many, showing how 6th grade GTA students learned about Newton's laws of motion (and more) by designing their own roller coasters in a controlled experiment; how 8th grade GTA students viewed authentic ofrendas for Dia de los Muertos at the MECA in Houston; and how 7th grade GTA students participated in, created, and presented a day of student-designed EdCamp sessions in a professional conference forum

GTA on the Move! September 2024 Photo Gallery

  • The pictures below are from September 2024. Students in the GTA have been on field experiences to the Eternal Gandhi Museum, Houston Museum of Natural Science, BAPS Shri Mandir, Chung Mei Temple, Islamic Da'wah Center, Christ Church Cathedral, and The Bryan Museum in Galveston. They also celebrated Harvest Festival in Spanish class, honoring Hispanic culture at school, in addition to delivering TED Talks in ELA.

  • QVMS Academic Pentathlon Team

    Fort Bend ISD (April 25, 2024) - Quail Valley Middle School’s eighth grade Academic Pentathlon team reigned at the 2024 regional competition, advancing to compete at the national competition in Phoenix this May.

    “This is the first year we have been able to advance with the invitation to attend the United States Academic Pentathlon Nationals,” QVMS teacher and team coach Jeanette Morales said. “This team is quite possibly one of the best I have ever coached, and I am proud to have been able to be a part of this journey with them.”

    The students individually earned four gold medals in literature, social science, science and fine arts; one silver medal in social science; and three bronze medals in science.

    The team collectively won a silver plaque in the Super Quiz relay event, and also earned overall bronze medals and plaques in Region 2, earning them an invitation to the USAP Nationals.

    The Quail Valley Middle School Pentathlon Team consists of the following students:

    Nathan Anderson – Second Place Super Quiz and Third Place Overall 
    Joseph Cabanas – Second Place Super Quiz and Third Place Overall 
    Henry Laskoski – First Place Literature, Second Place Super Quiz and Third Place Science and Overall
    Nilav Mukhopadhyay – First Place Fine Arts, Second Place Social Science and Super Quiz, and Third Place Overall
    Olivia Onyia – Second Place Super Quiz and Third Place Overall 
    Tilak Suther – Second Place Super Quiz and Third Place Overall
    Manvik Thanneeru – First Place Social Science and Science, Second Place Super Quiz and Third Place Overall
