Private/Charter/Home School Students
Interested fifth grade students who attend private/charter/home schools AND live in the FBISD zone must complete the following:
- Apply for the February 3, 2024 GT Test Session for incoming private/charter/homeschool 6th graders prior to January 31st .

- Upload the following documents as proof of Fort Bend ISD residency prior to the February test session.
- Current Report Card reflecting student is in the 5th grade
- Current lease or mortgage statement
- Current utility bill (electricity, gas, or water only)
- Texas Driver’s License matching the Fort Bend ISD address
- Score in the 97thpercentile or above in two or more subtests of the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test)
- If a student scores in the 97thpercentile (130 SAS) in one or more subtests and a 92nd percentile and above in another (further information may be requested)
- Eligible students must apply for the GT Academy during the normal application window at https://academy.fortbendisd.com . Use your child's 6 digit birthdate (mmddyy) as their ID number.
- If student's data indicates a need for GT services in Fort Bend ISD, they will be entered into the tiered lottery alongside all other FBISD applicants.
IMPORTANT
Any Private/Charter/Homeschool Student that misses the deadline for the February Test Session can still apply for FBISD GT Evaluation.
The next GT Test Session for enrolled private/charter/homeschool students will be following enrollment in FBISD during the Fall referral window.
Admission into the academy for eligible GT private/homeschool students will be handled on a case-by-case basis (based on availability) AFTER GT Eligibility is determined by the District's GT Department.
