Over the past few months, Fort Bend ISD has been the subject of a number of conversations in the community and in the media regarding our disciplinary actions and truancy referral process.
On May 12 and May 20, FBISD held community meetings to discuss ways the District can work with the community to close achievement gaps by improving attendance and reducing truancy, and engaging our students in their learning to improve student disciplinary issues.
If you were unable to attend the meeting, please consider watching videos of the presentation and then submitting your feedback online. Your input will be taken into consideration as the District moves forward with plans to better serve all of our students.
The presentation begins with an activity to discuss “40 Developmental Assets” that can help youth achieve success and grow up healthy and responsible, and is followed by information regarding student engagement, discipline, and student attendance. Please watch each portion and consider providing feedback on the data presented.
