• MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAMS

    *Fort Bend ISD (FBISD) will be closed for the Fourth of July Holidays (July 6 to July 10, 2026). 

    In summer 2026, in response to the needs of our students and families, Fort Bend ISD will be offering a variety of instructional remedial and original credit opportunities for our middle school students (6-8th grades). Original credit coursework (fee based) will be available only for 8th grade students in good standing going into 9th grade. Summer O-LAB (online original credit) and Original Credit will be available at assigned secondary campuses (please consult the High School Summer Programs page for further details).

    FBISD Special Education will offer several summer programs, including Extended School Year (ESY) Services, Structured Therapeutic Educational Program (STEP), SPED Early Intervention Academy (EIA), and Social Understanding Programs. Please check the Special Education website for program details and qualifications. (ESY) services will be provided to students receiving special education services who are recommended through an ARD committee decision.

    Credit Recovery (Remedial) – District Program

    The Credit Recovery Program allows students to regain credit for previously failed courses by successfully completing coursework. Tuition will apply to out of district students. Core subject areas offered include Math, ELA, Texas/US History, and Science. All students must complete a registration form. Students can recover credits for a maximum of two courses. All courses will be face to face. Registration May 11 - June 1.

    Original Credit and Summer O-LAB HS

    Summer Original Credit Original credit summer courses provide high school students a path to earn first-time credit through accelerated offerings. In-person courses are available to all students entering 9th through 12th grades who meet course prerequisites.  Students may earn original credit towards graduation for classes they have not had before. These are tuition-based programs (see rates below).  The registration window for Original Credit courses is March 9 - May 8, 2026.

    Summer O-LAB is the FBISD semi-online original credit program. Registration is March 9 - May 8, 2026. This program is a tuition-based original credit opportunity. Courses are completed online, with all assessments being proctored on campus by O-LAB teachers. Curriculum will include the use of Edgenuity, a district-provided, purchased curriculum. Other online options are available via district-approved external providers - Texas Tech University K-12, University of Texas High School, and Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN). Use of Summer O-LAB and approved external providers require counselor approval via the O-LAB External Provider Application found in Family Access under Online Forms.

    *Students may opt to take online courses via Summer O-LAB or one of three external providers with FBISD school counselor approval. To register for Summer O-LAB or an External Provider, the student or parent must submit the O-LAB Summer Application or O-LAB External Provider application in Family Access to obtain counselor approval. More information on the registration process can be found on the Summer O-LAB website.  A list of course offerings and costs for each program is available via the Summer O-LAB website. Students may register for up to two semesters of coursework.

    Original Credit Programs Information

    • Summer O-LAB registration dates are March 9 — May 8, 2026. The Summer O-LAB applications should be completed in Skyward Family Access under online forms. Summer O-LAB (virtual) payments ($125 Full, $65 Reduced, $50 Free Lunch) must be made via Skyward Family Access/Rev Track after the counselor has approved the application. The payment deadline is May 16th. Refunds: A $25 processing fee will be deducted from each approved refund. To request a refund, please email Dr. Taya Watkins at taya.watkins@fortbendisd.com
    • Original Credit (In Person) registration dates are March 9 — May 8, 2026. Original Credit (face-to-face) registration form should be completed in Skyward Family Access under online forms, and payments must be made via Skyward Family Access/Rev Track. Refunds: A $25 processing fee will be deducted from each approved refund. Refund requests will not be accepted or approved once classes begin on the first day of each session.     Credit Recovery (Remedial) Programs Information

    Credit recovery registration will be completed by your school counselor once a completed registration form is returned to the campus. Summer credit recovery registration is May 7–June 1, 2026 (payment must be completed by June 1).
    *Out-of-district students are able to attend FBISD credit recovery programs if their home district is not offering summer school.
     
    Cost for Remedial Credit is $200 ($125 for Reduced Lunch status, $100 Free Lunch status). Registration for all courses is on a first-come, first-served basis and will depend on availability.
