The District Partnership Procedures have been developed in alignment with Policy GK(Local) to help guide internal and external stakeholders on how to successfully engage in partnership and collaboration opportunities with Fort Bend ISD.

Volunteer Code of Ethics

To ensure a positive experience for everyone, volunteers are expected to follow these core principles:

✅ Dependability

Honor your scheduled volunteer times. If you can’t make it, notify the VIPS Campus Coordinator or school staff as soon as possible.

✅ Respect for School Staff

Follow the guidance of teachers, administrators, and campus staff.

✅ Confidentiality

Keep student and school matters private. If you have concerns, speak directly with a teacher, counselor, or administrator.

✅ Fairness

Treat all students and situations with impartiality—no favoritism.

✅ Professionalism

Keep personal feelings separate from your volunteer role. Stay focused on supporting students and staff.

✅ Appropriate Appearance

Dress in a way that sets a positive example for students.

Volunteer Guidelines

To ensure a safe and productive experience, all volunteers must follow these guidelines:

🔐 On Campus

• Sign in at the front office and through the volunteer system (Raptor).
• Wear your ID badge at all times while on campus.
• Follow school rules — teaching, grading, and discipline are handled by school staff.

🤝 Working Together

• Coordinate with school staff and the VIPS Campus Coordinator to plan and participate in activities.
• Ask questions and clarify expectations, tasks, and feedback with staff.

Note: For safety reasons, children are not allowed on campus unless there is a designated Parent Center. Please check with the VIPS Campus Coordinator/Principal to confirm.

📋 Volunteer Procedures

To maintain a strong partnership, volunteers must follow FBISD Policy GKG Local:

• All volunteer work must be approved by the campus principal.
• Volunteers must follow campus rules set by the principal or district administrator.
• Principals, with approval from the Assistant Superintendent, may remove a volunteer if the partnership is not a good fit.

🛡️ Volunteer Safety Guidelines

These guidelines help protect students and ensure a safe, respectful environment for everyone involved in the FBISD VIPS Program.

👥 Meeting with Students

• All meetings must take place on campus or during a school-sponsored field trip.
• Activities must happen in open areas or rooms with open doors, always within sight of school staff.
• Off-campus contact is not allowed unless directly supervised by school officials.

🚗 Transportation

• Volunteers may not transport students in personal vehicles.
• Students must travel in a district vehicle, a school official’s vehicle, or with their parent/legal guardian.
• Never be alone with a student in any vehicle.

🤗 Physical Contact

• Keep physical contact minimal—such as a handshake or a light pat on the back.
• Even friendly gestures can be misinterpreted, so always be mindful.

🔒 Confidentiality

• Any information shared about a student is confidential.
• If a student shares something serious—such as abuse, suicidal thoughts, or illegal activity—you must report it immediately to the principal.
• Document what was shared and who you reported it to.
• Do not share this information with anyone else.
