    PK Qualification for Teachers

    With the passing of House Bill 2 in June 2025,  FBISD Teachers of Record  are now eligible for tuition-free Pre-K 4 for their children! 

    If you are a full-time certified teacher assigned to provide instruction in an FBISD PreK–12 classroom for at least half a day, and your child turns four years old on or before September 1, 2025, your child qualifies for tuition-free Prekindergarten for the 2025-26 school year! 

     Review the steps below to ensure your child is approved for enrollment. 

    Steps to Apply for Tuition-Free PreK 4:

    Age Requirement for the 2026-27 school year - Your child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2026. 

    1. Register in Skyward - Your child must be registered in the system to review eligibility. Date will be announced after the FBISD Board of Trustees' vote on school consolidations and attendance boundaries. 
    2. Submit All Required Documents - Ensure all registration documents are received (child's birth certificate and immunization record, parent/guardian identification, current utility bill, and proof of residency [lease, deed, or property tax statement]). 
    3. Approval Notification - Once approved, you and your campus ADA will receive an approval email confirming your child’s enrollment.
