IMPORTANT! Registrations for the 2026-27 school year opened on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 8:00 am. This round of registrations includes children of full-time certified teachers assigned to provide instruction in an FBISD PreK–12 classroom for at least half a day.If you are a full-time certified teacher assigned to provide instruction in an FBISD PreK–12 classroom for at least half a day, and your child turns four years old on or before September 1, 2026, your child qualifies for tuition-free Prekindergarten for the 2026-27 school year.
Review the steps below to ensure your child is approved for enrollment.
Steps to Apply for Tuition-Free PreK 4:
Age Requirement for the 2026-27 school year - Your child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2026.
- Register in SkywardQ - Your child must be registered in the system to review eligibility.
- Use your FBISD e-mail to complete the Microsoft Form provided in the registration application in SkywardQ, and select three elementary school campuses (the three selected campuses must be different, selecting only one campus decreases placement options considerably). Completing the Microsoft Form without submitting the SkywardQ application does not secure a spot on any FBISD Pre-K campus. Both forms are required for enrollment.
- Submit All Required Documents - Ensure all registration documents are received (child's birth certificate and immunization record, parent/guardian identification, current utility bill, and proof of residency [lease, deed, or property tax statement]).
- Approval Notification - Children will be enrolled only after the Early Childhood Department verifies the teacher assignment to the classroom. Approval will be communicated to the teacher via email. Please allow 7-10 school days for the approval process. ADAs are processing high volumes of applications and can only enroll children of full-time certified teachers assigned to provide instruction in an FBISD PreK–12 classroom for at least half a day, once they receive approval from Early Childhood.
IMPORTANT: Children of FIBSD staff or other certified teachers who are not assigned to classrooms can participate in the Pre-K4 tuition-based program, which opens on April 24th, 2026.
