What is an Academy?
Come learn more about the International Business and Marketing Academy at Travis High School on October 24, 2019 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at our Open House!
The Fort Bend ISD High School Academies are designed to offer specialized programs for academic achievement in a variety of career clusters. Academies are personalized, small learning communities that function within a larger high school. Academies exist to provide specialized learning communities with concentrated and robust course pathways comprised of career and academic classes.
Applications for the High School Academy programs for the 2020-2021 school year open on November 1, 2019 and close on January 24, 2020.
Students must complete and submit the online application by the designated deadline. Students may apply to more than one Academy.
To apply and attend a Fort Bend ISD academy, students must reside within Fort Bend ISD.
Students not currently attending a Fort Bend ISD school, but residing within the District, must provide additional documentation to the District office. Details will be explained on the online application website.
The International Business & Marketing Academy accepts applications from current 8th grade students only.
The International Business & Marketing Academy class of 2024 will begin their studies at Travis High School.
*Please note that any student attending an academy outside of the attendance zone in which he/she resides, will be ineligible for varsity athletic competition during the first year of academy attendance.
- Students must be in 8th grade and reside within FBISD at the time of application - Successful completion of all parts of the 7th grade STAAR exam - Review of 7th and 8th grade semester grades in math, science, ELA and social studies - Personal Interview - Final acceptance is contingent upon successful completion of all eighth grade courses during the regular school year and all parts of the eighth grade STAAR exam.
* If a student does not meet the above requirements, student will automatically be placed on Academic Probation for the student's incoming Fall semester
