  • About Fragments, Bits, & Pieces

    Fragments, Bits, & Pieces is a mixed-media anthology (or collection of works, bound into a book) that will feature a variety of FBISD high school students' works.

    Perks of Being a Contributor

    Some perks students enjoy from being published are:

    • Rights to their own works (their works can be submitted/published outside of the anthology)
    • 1 free hardcopy of Fragments, Bits, & Pieces
    • Extra copies of Fragments, Bits, & Pieces at discount
    • Ability to promote own works 
    • 1 copy added to each high school library in FBISD
    • Being a featured contributor at Bookapalooza
      • Experience performing a professional reading (optional)
      • Experience on building rapport with prospective fans via book signings (optional)
    • Seeing their works in print 
  • Submission Guidelines

    • Students must be in grades 9-12.
    • Up to 2 submissions, per student, will be considered for publication.
    • Limits:
      • Written works submitted must be 1500 words or less.
      • Artwork should work in grayscale.
      • Music and/or videos must be <5 minutes.
    • All materials submitted become the property of FBISD. FBISD has the non-exclusive right to publish your work in any format, including print and online media. However, the student retains the right to submit their work elsewhere.
    • No tolerance for plagiarism.
    • All work must be original and produced by the student submitting the work. AI-generated artwork and writing will not be accepted.
    • Excessive profanity, violence, and sexually explicit material will not be considered.
    • Must follow FBISD Board Policy for Library Material Selection.
  • About Graphic Design Contest

    • You are designing THE book cover
    • Must follow submission guidelines, above
    • Open to FBISD students in grades 9-12
    • Theme: Fragments, Bits, and Pieces
    • Runners-up will be printed and/or linked to, in the anthology
    • Submit to appropriate FB&P Schoology
    • Book Cover Specs:
      • Color/glossy
      • Should include the title: Fragments, Bits, & Pieces
      • 5.5 x 8.5 (with bleed)
