SIRE Therapeutic Horsemanship
SIRE Therapeutic Horsemanship
The mission of SIRE is to improve the quality of life for people with special needs through therapeutic horsemanship activities and therapies, and educational outreach.
We rely on the dedication of our incredible volunteers. Annually, our volunteers donate more than 30,000 hours of service to SIRE. This is equivalent to 15 full time employees working for the entire year!
Volunteers assist our clients in a variety of ways, both inside and outside the riding arena. In the arena, volunteers are side-walkers (providing physical and verbal support) and horse leaders (assuring safe horse handling during class).
Outside the arena, volunteers assist with everything from administrative tasks to governance and leadership, event planning, client outreach, barn cleaning, and handy man jobs.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Some training may be required.
