What will intervention look like for students?
Intervention will be provided to students based on student need and there are many ways that intervention may take place. The following intervention solutions will be considered based on student need and schedule options:
- All elementary campuses will have 45 minutes built into each day to provide intervention and academic support for students.
- Intensive Tier 3 intervention using research-based programs will be used for identified students in math or reading at all elementary campuses and identified secondary campuses.
- Middle School and High School campuses will utilize specific courses designed for intervention during the school day for students that require additional math or reading support.
- Targeted tutoring provided before/after school or during the school day.
-
What is accelerated instruction, and will my student need it?
Accelerated instruction is a term designated by TEA and applies to House Bill 4545 in which the school district must provide academic support to any student who “Did Not Meet Grade Level” or did not take the STAAR and STAAR end-of-course (EOC) assessments in the Spring 2021. Accelerated instruction is targeted, supplemental instructional aligned to the TEKS. The District is in the process of determining an assessment plan for August/September 2021 to collect assessment data for students that did not take the STAAR and STAAR EOC in the Spring 2021. More information can be found at this website.
Blackboard Connect – FBISD’s Mass Notification System
-
Blackboard Connect is used to send emergency, attendance and general notifications from your child’s campus and Fort Bend ISD, as well as attendance updates and information about negative lunch balances. Parents may opt to receive phone calls, emails and text messages through Blackboard Connect.
Note: Parents listed as Guardian 1 in Family Access will be the primary contact in Blackboard Connect. Only the primary contact will be allowed to add contacts in Blackboard Connect. Primary guardians in separate households will both have the ability to add contacts.
Text Messaging - By choosing to receive any text messages or phone calls, standard data fees, text messaging rates, or international charges may apply based on your plan with your phone carrier. As mobile access and text message delivery is subject to your mobile carrier network availability, such access and delivery is not guaranteed.
