Computer Science Education Week: December 3 - 9, 2018

  • Computer Science Education Week is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in Computer Science. Fort Bend ISD will participate in the Hour of Code activities and Scratch Day during the week of December 3rd - December 9th. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. Learn more at, try an hour yourself, or host an Hour of Code event to introduce others to the world of computing! 


    Our goal is to:

    • inspire students in grades K-12 to take interest in computer science,

    • demonstrate that anybody can learn the basics of coding and

    • broaden participation in the field of computer science.


    This year, let's make it even bigger! We are asking you to join in for the Hour of Code 2018!


    FBISD Teachers: Campuses with the greatest student participation will win a prize package. Report student participation using the form linked below.

  • “The 'Hour of Code™' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week[] and[] to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.” 
  • Fort Bend ISD students are invited to attend Scratch Day on December 8th! Scratch Day is a “free” community event allowing students to learn how to create interactive stories, games and animations using Scratch programming. Scratch promotes creativity, systemic reasoning and collaboration among people of all ages.
