• Local Designation System Timeline

    The development of the FBISD Local Designation system launched through the work of a design team in 2023-24, with the purpose of designing and implementing systems necessary to support the local designation system. This design team included gathering input and feedback from campus principals, teachers in Teacher Forum, and district leaders. ​

    ​In May 2025, the district received notification that Fort Bend ISD’s local designation system application was accepted by TEA. System components required to be included in a local designation system and outlined within the application include:  ​

    • Teacher observation performance ​
    • Student growth measure ​
    • A Spending plan that requires Board approval​ ​
    • Additional optional components identified by the district

    TIA Timeline

    As an application accepted district, FBISD will enter Data Capture in the 2025-2026 school year and will submit data to Texas Tech for validation. If the data is validated, the district will receive full system approval in the Spring of 2027 and funds will be awarded to teachers who receive a designation by August 2027.
