The following are links to third party content we think Parents will find beneficial:
Wizer has lots of information on how to stay safe online including many videos you can watch with your children. We think this video about one danger of teens and pre-teens on Social Media (from Wizer) is especially useful.
Common Sense Media has many useful reviews of online apps, games, movies, etc.
The United States Department of Justice has posted resources for protecting kids online.
The Federal Trade Commission has dedicated a section on their website to Protecting Kids Online.
Scholastic (an FBISD vendor) has many useful resources on their Keeping Kids Safe Online website.
Google has many Digital Safety Resources available including Be Internet Awesome Resources for Families.
Internet Matters has internet safety advice broken down by age range.
There are many other resources that are available online (this is not an exhaustive list), please feel free to share with us any resources you find useful and we will review them for inclusion on this site. We encourage you to talk to your children about what they are doing online and monitor the apps they use (especially confirm that they are old enough as recommended by the vendor). Some online apps are enticing to younger children but are not appropriate (especially social media, most recommend children are at least 13 years or older).
