FBISD to host Special Education Hiring Event Tuesday, September 10

Fort Bend ISD (August 30, 2024) - Fort Bend ISD will host a Special Education Hiring Event on September 10, 2024 as it seeks qualified and dedicated staff members to lead and support student instruction throughout the district.

Candidates who are interested in Special Education teaching, instructional apprentice and aide positions are encouraged to attend the September 10 event to meet with hiring managers and learn more about the opportunities available during the current school year.

The event will be held from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at Dulles High School (550 Dulles Avenue, Sugar Land, 77478), and registration is now open at www.fortbendisd.com/hiringevent.

During the September 10 event, FBISD will be seeking certified special education teachers and apprentices to lead classroom instruction, as well as aides who help support students’ individual learning needs.

More about the positions available:

  • Certified Special Education Teachers: Fort Bend ISD offers competitive salaries and benefits for all teachers, and certified special education teachers are eligible for additional stipends based on assignment. FBISD also offers a differentiated teacher pay scale that offers significant increases at the completion of five-year milestones.
  • Instructional Apprentices: In response to the nationwide teacher shortage, FBISD’s instructional apprentice positions provide unique opportunities for candidates who are currently enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) to teach full-time while they actively complete their program requirements, with ongoing job-embedded support provided by the district.
  • Instructional Aides: Instructional aides support student instruction. Aide positions require 48-hours of college credit, although candidates who do not meet this requirement may also be eligible if they pass an online assessment that FBISD offers free of charge to all candidates.

Candidates who register for the September 10 event should bring copies of their resumes and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.

While the September 10 event is specifically targeted to Special Education candidates, FBISD also offers many career opportunities across job categories. To see all of the available positions and apply, candidates are invited to visit www.fortbendisd.com/careers.
