Diana Sayavedra serves as the Acting Superintendent. As an educator and transformational leader, she believes education is the opportunity equalizer and is committed to ensuring all students have access to a high quality, equitable education. During her role as the District's Chief Academic Officer, she led the transformation of teaching and learning in the district through the development and implementation of a new curriculum designed to improve equitable access for all students and to close achievement gaps among the District’s various student groups.
Previously, she served as Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer in Fort Bend ISD and as the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction in Pflugerville ISD, a position she held for four years after being promoted from Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to that, she served as the principal of Dessau Middle School in Pflugerville ISD and at Pearce Middle School in Austin ISD. Sayavedra also served as principal of Elkins High School and Sugar Land Middle School in Fort Bend ISD.
Sayavedra received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Physical Science from the University of Texas and a Master of Science in Education Administration from Texas A&M International University. She is pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Education Administration from Texas A&M University.
