Student Voice Advisory Network (VOICES)

The Student VOICE Advisory Network is a superintendent‑led program that brings together students from all 12 FBISD high schools to strengthen leadership, advocacy, and stakeholder‑engagement skills. Ambassadors represent their campuses in monthly full‑day meetings, provide input on district and campus decision‑making, and run the annual district‑wide Proposal Process, including Campus Town Halls and High School Student VOICES Summit.
Qualifications- Must be a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student applying in Spring 2026.
- Must be in good standing with grades, attendance, and behavior.
- Must have an interest in developing leadership and advocacy skills.
- Must have parent/guardian permission to participate.
- Must be willing to meet all attendance and participation expectations.
- Term Length: One Year
- Meetings: Monthly full‑day sessions during the school year (7:30 a.m. – 2:10 p.m.). Absences will not count against you.
- Attendance: Mandatory for all meetings; missing two meetings results in replacement by the next qualified candidate.
- Location & Transportation: Meetings are held at district sites. District transportation is available via Elkins Academy bus routes; students may drive with written parent/guardian permission.
- Meals: Light breakfast, lunch, and beverages provided at each meeting.
- Opens: Friday, March 13th
- Closes: Saturday, April 4th at 11:59 p.m.
- Notifications: Late April/Early May
