Dear Students:
The Dual Credit program allows eligible high school students in FBISD to take college credit courses provided through Houston Community College (HCC). Students can earn college credit by taking college classes offered at their high schools or select classes at any HCC campus. Currently, dual credit courses are tuition-free through HCC. In addition to college credit, students may earn credit toward their high school graduation requirements by completing dual credit courses.
If you are interested in taking a Dual Credit course this spring (2026), please pick up a Dual Credit packet from the Counselor’s Suite in the Commons. Once your documents have been turned in, you will be enrolled in the Dual Credit Schoology class. The Dual Credit Schoology course will give you access to dual credit forms, information, and HCC resources.
Please note, due to limited seats in classes, students will be given spots on a first come first serve basis. The application process, including paperwork, must be submitted by October 31, 2025. I have to manually upload all documents, so October 31st is a HARD deadline. Please do not wait until the last minute or the classes may be full!
Course options for the Spring semester:
- Speech 1315
- Sociology 1301
- Psychology 2301
- Humanities 1301
- College Algebra 1314 (students need to have already completed Algebra 2 to be eligible)
- College Transitions EDUC 1300
Thank you and hope to see those forms coming in!
