• Dual Credit

    • What is a Dual Credit course?

Dual credit courses are offered to students in FBISD through Houston City College (formerly Houston Community College).  Dual credit courses are college courses that you take while in high school.  Since you are taking a college course, FBISD gives you high school credit.

    Action Items:

    1.  Review the Dual Credit Presentation

    2.  Review the Dual Credit Course Catalog

      • The course numbers/names will help you fill out form #5.2 below.

    3.  Submit HCC Application

    • Use your PERSONAL email when creating your account!

    • If you have already taken dual credit through HCC previously and have an HCC ID, you do NOT need to apply again and can skip this step.  You will only submit ONE HCC application even if you are taking course in multiple terms.

    • Within 2-3 days, you will receive an acceptance email from HCC with an HCC student ID number.  Your HCC ID starts with a W followed by nine digits.  If you do not have a Social Security number, HCC will assign a P number to you.  Do not lose your student ID.

    4.  Complete the following documents and save them as PDFs:

IMPORTANT: You need to apply to HCC before completing these forms, as you will need your HCC number.  All documents must be PDF.  No pictures or screenshots will be accepted.

      • If these are not in PDF form, your application will be rejected and your place in line will be lost.  Remember, Dual Credit is on a first-come, first-served basis.
