• NEW GUIDANCE:

Please see the following clarification on summer school in accordance with Board Policy EHDE:

Per Local Policy EHDE, beginning in Summer 2026, students may take a maximum of two external provider credits. UT High School, TTU K-12, HCC (when taken independently), and TXVSN are all considered external providers.

Based on that policy, your two allowable summer credits could come from any combination of the following modalities:

    • HCC Summer Dual Credit
      • One high school credit = two 3-hour HCC courses (example: Psychology and Sociology).
    • FBISD Summer Olab
      • Students enrolled in summer O-LAB, cannot take face-to-face summer school courses.
    • FBISD External Providers (UT High School, TTU K-12, TXVSN)
      • The 2-credit external provider maximum through UT High School and or TTU K-12 applies to summer school as well.
    • FBISD Summer School (Face to Face)
      • Students enrolled in FBISD summer school cannot take O-Lab

    Please Note:

    • During the regular school year, students may take:
      • Unlimited TXVSN or Two External Provider courses, and/or
      • Embedded HCC dual credit courses offered on campus as part of the student’s schedule.
    • The 2-credit external provider 2 credit maximum through UT High School and or TTU K-12 remains.

Please be mindful that all options require counselor and/or CCRA approval. Per Local Policy EHDE, if approval is not granted prior to enrollment, the student shall receive course credit only, without grade points applied toward their GPA calculation.
