Ms. Kelsey Bates

This is my second year teaching at Clements HS. I currently teach AP U.S. History and on-level U.S. History. This is my 15th year in education and I previously taught in Sabine Pass ISD and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. I love being a teacher and allowing students to engage with history in a multitude of ways. I am also the Champion for Gifted Students (COGS) for Clements HS if you have any GT related questions. Lastly, I am sponsoring two UIL Academic events: Current Issues and Events, and Literary Criticism.

  • Recommendation Letters

If you require a recommendation letter from me and believe that I am a teacher who is uniquely able to discuss you and your work and learning journey well, then please proceed through the following required steps.
    1. FOUR or more weeks prior to your application deadline, email me directly (kelsey.bates@fortbendisd.com) to request the recommendation.
    2. Your email should include the following: a warm greeting, information regarding the due date and type of recommendation letter, and your attached resume.
    3. After I accept to write the letter, I will send you a form to complete.
    4. Submit the proper requests for recommendation letters (college application letters only) in SchoolLinks.

**Remember to be clear with all teachers from whom you request a recommendation.  If a school only allows 1 or 2 recommendations, then the first one or two teachers who submit them will be those that the school will receive.
