Ms. Kelsey Bates
This is my second year teaching at Clements HS. I currently teach AP U.S. History and on-level U.S. History. This is my 15th year in education and I previously taught in Sabine Pass ISD and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. I love being a teacher and allowing students to engage with history in a multitude of ways. I am also the Champion for Gifted Students (COGS) for Clements HS if you have any GT related questions. Lastly, I am sponsoring two UIL Academic events: Current Issues and Events, and Literary Criticism.

Recommendation Letters
If you require a recommendation letter from me and believe that I am a teacher who is uniquely able to discuss you and your work and learning journey well, then please proceed through the following required steps.- FOUR or more weeks prior to your application deadline, email me directly (kelsey.bates@fortbendisd.com) to request the recommendation.
- Your email should include the following: a warm greeting, information regarding the due date and type of recommendation letter, and your attached resume.
- After I accept to write the letter, I will send you a form to complete.
- Submit the proper requests for recommendation letters (college application letters only) in SchoolLinks.
**Remember to be clear with all teachers from whom you request a recommendation. If a school only allows 1 or 2 recommendations, then the first one or two teachers who submit them will be those that the school will receive.
