Welcome one and all to your future in mathematics. My name is Coach Tielke and I will be your guide through Algebra 1 and Math Models this year. My aim is to make math attainable by every young mind, and all students are reachable if they are willing to open up to the possibility to learn and obtain knowledge. I hope to create a fun and interactive classroom as I continue my journey as a teacher, but I also plan to provide thorough and constructive instruction along the way.
I was a graduate of Elkins High School, and I attended Texas Lutheran University before graduating from the University of Houston in Clear Lake. I have had over ten years of experience as a private tutor and I come from a family of educators. My father and brother both have experience as administrators and my wife and mother have experience as teachers, so it is safe to say that the Tielke family has a strong presence in the greater southwest Houston area.
Outside the classroom, you will also find me on the soccer field coaching our Lady Rangers, hopefully to their first trip to State under Coach Boagni's watch. I am returning full-time to the soccer program as the official JVA and Assistant Head coach and I could not be more excited to help the program grow into something memorable. As an athlete myself, having played three years of college tennis for Texas Lutheran University and also playing several years of competitive soccer, I am an avid support of the student athlete and stand proud on the sidelines coaching several great young student athletes from year to year.
I am the proud husband of Sarah Tielke, currently an English teacher at Kempner High School, and we have two wonderful children, Lola and Owen. I believe strongly in the roots of family, and I will always take care of my family above all else. Just like I hope to take interest in the lives of my children for years to come, I greatly encourage all communication in reference to the success and struggles of our students/children so that we may work together in harmony.
Please join in on my wishes for another bright and productive school-year.
