I began taking Latin in public school in the Dallas area and continued in college. I started as an English major and decided to add Classical Studies as a second major. After graduate school, I started teaching Latin and English and have loved all 21 years! In the 2020-2021 school year I joined the team at Clements High School, where I have taught Latin and English for the past few years.

I have always loved learning about origins and how groups of people have influenced one another in so many ways. I have also always been fascinated by language in general. I hope to inspire my students, whether in my English classes or my Latin classes, to continue to learn, refine and master their ability to express themselves clearly, concisely and professionally.  

My wife is an elementary music teacher in Fort Bend ISD. We are both passionate about public education. We have two children and two basset hounds at home. In whatever spare time I have, I enjoy spending time with my family, woodworking, landscaping/gardening, and playing music.
