As Fort Bend ISD’s Acting Superintendent, my goal is to provide stability and support to all District stakeholders. I value our partnership and remain available to students, parents, our campus leaders, District administrators, and Board of Trustees. Whether it is your first day in our school district or you are ending your time with us in Fort Bend ISD, your feedback is important in guiding us and I welcome conversations with parents, teachers, and students.

I have a long history in the District, serving as principal at Elkins High School and Sugar Land Middle School, an assistant principal at Dulles High School, and a teacher at Hodges Bend Middle School years ago. I have also served as the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction in Pflugerville ISD, a position I held for four years after being promoted from Director of Curriculum and Instruction, in addition to serving as the principal of Dessau Middle School in Pflugerville ISD and Pearce Middle School in Austin ISD.

As an educator and transformational leader, I believe education is the opportunity equalizer and I have a steadfast commitment to ensuring all students have access to a high quality, equitable education.

In 2016, when I assumed the role of Chief Academic Officer, I carried forward this belief as I led the transformation of teaching and learning in FBISD through the development and implementation of the curriculum. Management systems were designed to improve equitable access to the written, taught, and assessed curriculum to drive progress toward closing achievement gaps among the district’s various student groups.

Serving on the executive team as the Deputy Superintendent, I have collaborated with my peers and the Board of Trustees to develop a strong, trusting relationship between all stakeholders to improve student and organizational outcomes.

I want to assure you that our District is in a strong position to move forward and I, like many of you, am eager and excited to see our students and teachers engaged in the learning process as we continue the work of educating the Whole Child.

I am confident that we will continue on the path to success TOGETHER to create a better future for our students, their families and all District staff members.

    Sincerely,

    Diana Sayavedra, Acting Superintendent
    Fort Bend ISD
