Fort Settlement Middle School places second at 2025 National Science Bowl®
Fort Bend ISD (May 1, 2025) — Fort Settlement Middle School students earned national recognition, placing second at the 2025 National Science Bowl® after an outstanding performance in Washington, D.C.
The team advanced to the championship round after a weekend of intense team challenge competitions. Fort Settlement students and staff gathered in the school’s Commons before school to watch the livestream and cheer on their classmates.
“I cannot begin to express how proud I am of our Falcon team,” Principal Jennifer Williams said. “This remarkable accomplishment reflects not only the hard work and dedication of our talented students, but also the unwavering support and guidance from our incredible coaches, Ms. Staley and Mr. Peugnet. Their commitment to fostering a love for science and encouraging our students to think critically and collaborate effectively has truly made a difference.”
The National Science Bowl®, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, is a competitive academic event that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics.
Fort Settlement’s school motto is “Lead with Courage…Continue to SOAR — Serve, Overcome, Achieve, Respect.”
“Our science bowl team has exemplified these values, showing courage in the face of competition and demonstrating the determination to overcome challenges,” Principal Williams said.
