FBISD’s Student Affairs Department announces important changes to the Student Transfer Process

The Fort Bend ISD Student Affairs Department announces important changes to the student transfer process to better accommodate the needs of students and families. 

All current and new transfer students, including those of employees, must submit a transfer application annually to attend or remain at a transfer campus. 

Beginning January 2025, the transfer request window will open in phases based on student grade levels and application types.  

Current transfer students must submit a renewal application during their designated phase to remain at their transfer campus. New applications will only be accepted in Phase 3 and Phase 4 for newly hired or reassigned employees. 

All transfer requests are for the 2025-2026 school year. 

2025-26 Student Transfer Application Phases Timeline  

Phase 1: Special Circumstance (SCT) and Employee Student Transfer (EST) Renewals for rising 10th-12th graders will be January 21 – February 21, 2025. *New applications will not be processed during Phase 1. 

Phase 2: Special Circumstance (SCT) and Employee Student Transfer (EST) Renewals for rising 1st-5th graders and rising 7th – 8th graders will be March 24 – May 7, 2025. *New applications will not be processed during Phase 2. 

Phase 3: New Special Circumstance (SCT) and New Employee Student Transfer (EST) Transfer requests for rising Kindergarten-12th graders and Renewals for rising 6th and 9th graders will be June 2 – June 27, 2025. 

Phase 4: New Employee Student Transfers (EST) for newly hired or reassigned employees opens July 7, 2025.
