TASB elects Trustee Hanan to interim position
Fort Bend ISD (August 2, 2024) - The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors has elected Angie Hanan of Fort Bend ISD to an interim position on the TASB Board, representing TASB Region 4, Position G.
Hanan was first elected to the Fort Bend ISD (FBISD) Board in 2020 and was reelected in May 2023.
She earned a bachelor’s from Oklahoma State University and completed graduate work at the University of Houston. Hanan taught in Houston-area school districts for six years before joining FBISD in 1997 as a classroom and specialized reading teacher. Hanan also served as a literacy coach and the district's English as a second language coordinator.
In 2006, she started her own educational consulting business, Hanan Educational Resources, providing consultation to districts and campuses in the areas of teacher training, instructional coaching, and program improvement.
Hanan is currently focusing her time on community volunteerism, including her role as a trustee. She is a member of the executive board of Destination Imagination (Gulf Coast Region) and a longtime board member for the Fort Bend Association of Parents for Academic Excellence (PACE).
TASB is a nonprofit organization established in 1949 to serve local Texas school boards. School board members are the largest group of publicly elected officials in the state.
