Below are important updates to district operations that have been impacted by Hurricane Beryl.

Due to the impact from Hurricane Beryl, the Fort Bend ISD Administration Building is closed for repairs.

Summer Credit Recovery at Marshall High School
Summer Credit Recovery at Marshall High School classes will resume on Tuesday, July 16.

In-District Summer O-Lab
In-District Summer O-Lab in-person testing will resume on Monday, July 22. All students may return to their home campus for testing, except Ridge Point High School students. Due to continued power outages at Ridge Point High School, RPHS O-Lab students will attend Crawford High School for in-person testing for the remainder of the summer.

Multilingual Summer School
Multilingual Summer School classes will not continue due to power outages and facility damage.

SPED ESY
SPED ESY classes will not continue due to power outages and facility damage.

Credit By Exam
Credit By Exam will be rescheduled at a future date.

Summer Camps
No campus activities or summer camps will take place the week of July 15 – July 19. Students who are enrolled in summer camps during this time will receive information directly from camp directors regarding updates. Camps and campus activities may resume Monday, July 22.

Extended Learning
Activities at the following sites will resume on Tuesday, July 16:
- Cornerstone Elementary
- Don Cook Natatorium
Activities at the sites below will not continue for the remainder of the summer term due to power outages, facilities damage, or non-functional air conditioning. Please note, you will be reimbursed for sites that are closed:
- Anne Sullivan Elementary
- James Neill Elementary
- Fort Settlement Middle School
FBISD Employees FAQs

Employee Pay & Leave During Emergency Closure
Due to Hurricane Beryl, which caused severe weather conditions and resulted in the District’s closure from Monday, July 8, 2024, to Thursday, July 11, 2024, full-time, part-time and temporary employees scheduled to work during this period will receive compensation at their regular rate of pay. All absences recorded during this period, will be removed, and will not affect employees’ leave balances.
According to Policy DEA (Local), non-salaried employees required to work during an emergency closure will be compensated at one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for hours worked up to 40 hours per week. Supervisor-designated salaried employees may also be required to work during district closure Monday, July 15 to ensure continuity and preparedness of the district reopening. Designated employees will be notified by their supervisor.

Payroll – Paper Check Pickup
Paper checks will be available for pick up Monday, July 15, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Fort Bend ISD Police Department main entrance: 550 Julie Rivers Dr., Sugar Land, TX 7747

Return to Work
All staff members are scheduled to return to work Tuesday, July 16, unless you have been communicated with by your manager with other instructions. If your work location is not operational, additional details on an alternate work location will be provided by your supervisor.

Student Camps and Student Campus Activities
No student camps and student campus activities may take place in FBISD district facilities or property during the week of July 15 – July 19. Student camps and student campus activities may resume Monday, July 22 if the district campus or facility is operational.

Breakthrough Leadership Summit
Due to continued power outages throughout the district, the Breakthrough Leadership Summit will now take place at Crawford High School, Tuesday, July 16 – Thursday, July 18. Staff members who have been designated to attend will receive an updated agenda.
