Mr. William Corrington
I am an Alabama native who has lived in Texas for 33 years. I graduated from Foley High School (located near the coast of Alabama...if you have been to Gulf Shores, you have likely traveled through my hometown), Auburn University with a degree in Applied Mathematics, and Texas A&M University with a teaching certificate in secondary mathematics. For the record, I do not particularly enjoy those games when they play each other...it is like two brothers fighting.
This is my 29th year of teaching, all of them at Elkins. This year I am teaching four AP Statistics courses, one on-level Statistics class and the Multidisciplinary Studies (Academic Decathlon) course. I have been a reader for the AP Statistics exam since 2014, and I make every attempt to share my experiences and insight as a reader with my students in an effort to help them do well on the AP Statistics exam. This year's AP Statistics exam is on Thursday, May 7 at 12:00 P.M.
I like to attend live sporting events whenever possible, usually Aggie and Houston pro sports-related, and part of my daily ritual is the New York Times puzzle section. "Connections" is sometimes questionable, but the rest of them are a good way to wake up my brain. Ironically, I do not do Sudoku puzzles very often (got kind of bored with them...). I am also our campus' UIL academics coordinator and help coach our mathematics, calculator and spelling teams. Students who may have an interest in any of the UIL academic events can feel free to speak to me.
My conference time is from 7:30-8:20 (1st period) if you need to get in touch with me during school hours. I also make every attempt to respond to e-mails promptly, as this is my preferred method of communication. I also use Skyward messaging on occasion to communicate information that applies to all classes, so please ensure that your email address is a current one.
Schoology is where homework, homework answers, notes and other course information will be housed. To access this information as a parent/guardian, please go to the Fort Bend Schoology page and create an account.
